Rubber Grease Plug for EZ-Lube Bearing Dust Caps #085-001-00
This very common rubber plug (also called rubber grommet) is generally used with Bearing Lube or EZ-Lube style grease caps. The plug will fit all grease caps with a 1.18" center hole. I have a 1995 Ranger R72 boat, purchased in the fall of 1994. The right/starboard hub-rotor got a crack in the rotor and I had a difficult time locating a replacement. Ranger (now Bass Pro) said it would take 12-16 weeks and a special $300+ order to have a new one cast for me. After a lot of searching I found the Trailer Buddy Model DB-42 Disc Brake Hub/Rotor 10 1/4" Diameter - Straight Spindle #41020 SS at Pacific Trailers.
This is the rubber plug for the 2.328" EZ-Lube Bearing Zinc Plated Grease/Dust Cap. #347512. The rubber plug doesn't come with the dust cap. I don't know why they don't include it. They should because you need it. The open end dust cap and rubber plug allow me to put grease through the Zerk fitting in the end of the spindle without having to remove the dust cap; a real time saver.
